Goodbye MAY !

OK. You may have noticed that I didn't post too much in May. Honestly, May was NOT my month. I'm not going to get into all the details, but I'm hoping for a much better June!

This is Freddy, the symbol of South Florida Mgmt District where my brother Nate happily works. Can you imagine that? Someone that actually LIKES their job? My father loved wearing this tee-shirt that Nate gave him.

**Freddy update**

~ due to recent advances in technology, I was able to shrink Freddy's image down to 6" so he can have his own quilt square! And, the original tee is still in tact, so Dad can still wear it :o)

These are beautiful little handmade dresses my stepmother Claire wore when she was a little girl. There is NO way I can cut these darling things up!
I'm having visions of little Josie wearing them......stay tuned!

Adorable gift from Brucie

Isn't this the cutest? It is a wine bottle cover, given to me by my girlfriend Brucie. I think I'll keep the wine naked, and hang this little sucker up in Josie's room :o)

Just in case you didn't know why we chose the name 'Josephine Anne'~'Joseph' is Bill's middle name & 'Anne' is mine. As you may have noticed, I already think of her as 'Josie'.

Geisha doll from Grandpa Bill Connolly

This is a gorgeous geisha doll that my Grandfather Bill Connolly brought home to my mother, when she was a little girl. He was serving as a marine in the Korean Conflict, and went to Japan on leave, where he got it. My mother gave it to Bill & I when she found out we were adopting from Asia.

Violet

A self-reflective Violet, spring of last year. Luckily for us ( and Violet ), she was on her best behavior the day of our homestudy ...... I was worried she'd snarl at our SW, but no.
It's our precious little dog Violet, enjoying a day in the sun. Yes people, those are blooming violets next to her!

Making the One Hundred Good Wishes Quilt, and participating in the quilt square swaps has been a blast - it makes checking the mail so much fun. This is a picture of what I'm basing Josie's quilt on, only hers will be bigger! 99 squares~

Hello Out There ~

This is the beginning of my very first blog. I have really enjoyed seeing other familys' blogspots and thought with Josie on the way, I need to figure this stuff out soon. Here's a picture of how big our adoption is.....we are so proud :o) Our dossier ( a HUGE pile of VERY expensive documents ~ also known as DTC)) has been sent to China on Feb. 3, 2006 and we are officially LID (Logged In Date) February 28, 2006
Now we wait........................
